A lorry driver has been left shaken and cut by shards of glass after children ambushed him with rocks.
The windscreen shattered on to Dave Seaman, 34, after stones and pieces of concrete came straight at him while he drove towards Rowhedge Wharf in Colchester.
The BAP transport driver was targeted by youngsters hiding in nearby trees and bushes, who remained hidden as the missiles were thrown.
"A rock, half the size of a house brick, came flying towards me and hit the screen.
"If could have easily gone straight into my face. As it was, the glass went all over my arms."
A police spokesman said the youngsters should be aware of their actions. "This is potentially very dangerous indeed and we are very concerned," he added.
Anyone with information on the attack should call police on 01206 762212.
