Siamese twins Ahmad and Muhammad bin Rosli may miss out on a vital operation to separate them - because of a lack of cash, it was feared today.
George Henry, of the Humanitarian Aid Project based in Leigh, said he was "nowhere near" raising the necessary funding and was unable to use charity funds as they were designated for eastern Europe.
Although surgeon Prof Lewis Spitz has promised to donate his time free of charge, George believes that the hospital costs could still run to £250,000.
If the money cannot be found, the parents Aisah bte Kanda and Muhammad will have to take the children back home, their hopes dashed.
George, who with his wife Lisa, founded the charity Humanitarian Aid Project for Eastern Europe, said if he cannot raise the cash, he will pack in the charity.
