Police are hunting a gang who committed a spate of robberies in the space of a few hours in Billericay.
In the first incident three men walked into Mackay's clothes shop in the High Street on August 7 and grabbed £300 from the till.
Members of the gang are thought to be respossible for two muggings only hours later. A man was attacked in Cromwell Avenue and hit over the head with a plank of wood.
Minutes later another victim was threatened with a knife and hit with a wooden plank and had his wallet stolen in Perry Street.
Later that day, at 10.15pm, the same man entered the One Stop shop in the High Street, he threatened staff with a hammer and stole £317.
