Anna Peters made a bright start in the Thunderball tennis tournament at Thorpe Bay LTC yesterday.
The only girl in the five-day event, Anna is in fifth place with five points after the first day.
She had an energy-sapping 7-6 3-6 6-0 win over Jack Cripps in the second round as the sun shone.
Jack had earlier won a marathon two and a half hour match 7-6 4-6 7-5 in round one against Robbie Shalders.
Two more rounds were played today.
Each round consists of a best of three set match where a two sets to love win scores three points for the winner and no points for the loser. A 2-1 win scores two points for the winner and one point for the loser.
