A Maldon man successfully avoided being locked up when he won his appeal to Chelmsford Crown Court against one month detention.
Robert Nicholls, 20, of Tenterfield, Maldon, was granted bail at Witham magistrates court in July when he was sentenced to one month detention for the admitted offence of driving a car while disqualified.
Recorder Henry Green Q.C. hearing the appeal against sentence on Friday replaced the custody sentence with 18 months rehabilitation.
