George Burley today hailed the impact of Hermann Hreidarsson as the Ipswich Town defender looked poised for a move to Premiership new boys West Bromwich Albion.
Town and the Baggies have already agreed a fee - thought to be in the region of £4 million - for the Icelandic defender.
And Hreidarsson and his agent travelled to Birmingham this morning to discuss personal terms and meet West Brom boss Gary Megson.
Speaking exclusively to the Evening Gazette, Burley said: "We have agreed a fee and the finances at the club are such that we have to listen to offers.
"It's disappointing and frustrating but there's nothing we can do about it, apart from get on with the job in hand.
"Hermann has done tremendously well for us in his two seasons at Portman Road.
"I can safely say he's one of the best professionals I've ever worked with and I'll be very sorry to see him go, as I'm sure will the fans."
