Southend was thrown into chaos on Saturday morning as homes and businesses flooded, roads were closed and events were cancelled.
A power cut put many traffic lights around the town out-of-action and most shops in the High Street were forced to close.
Western Esplanade, Westcliff, had to be closed for most of the day following a small landslide.
