New moves are being made to improve a seaside market following concerns about its future.
The plans were drawn up after a meeting was held between a working party from Frinton and Walton Town Council and Andy Morris, the South East area manager of Town and Country Markets, which runs the market site in Walton.
Christine Turner, who was at the meeting, said: "We told him we were not happy with the market and asked him what he was going to do about it."
She said: "I know the people are not coming to the market and shops are suffering."
At the meeting, Mr Morris told the councillors it was his personal aim to rebuild bridges and attract traders to rent sites at the market.
He also said there would be incentives to encourage traders to continue to attend.
