Essex have beaten Derbyshire by 140 runs in their County Championship Division Two match.
Having made 324 in their second innings, it was left to the Essex bowling attack to secure the win in the final day of the four-day match at Derby.
The pick of Essex's second innings was Darren Robinson who made 115 before losing his wicket to the bowling of Graeme Welch.
Derbyshire needed to make 292 runs for victory having made 301 in their first innings in reply to Essex's 268.
But the home side's batting order collapsed with Steven Selwood making the highest score of 24.
Essex bowler Joe Grant was the man to profit taking 4-45 including the prized wicket of Christopher Bassano for 0.
It was Bassano who had led Essex a merry dance earlier in the match by making 152 in Derbyshire's first innings.
Essex skipper Ronnie Irani and James Middlebrook also had reasons to smile as they ended with bowling figures of 2-15 and 3-28 respectively.
