Orsett will be nervously looking over their shoulders in the Premier Division after this loss saw them slip down the table.
They still remain 23 points ahead of ninth-placed South Woodford, but there's no doubt the tally of two points here was way below what they were looking for.
Saffron Walden have hopes of the title and set about the Orsett batting from the off.
T Smith proved a real thorn in Orsett's side with 5-45, including 11 maidens.
R Sparrow then ruffled their feathers on the batting front with 69 that saw Saffron Walden to the maximum 20 points.
