SKATE hockey teams from as far afield as London and Birmingham converged on Basildon at the weekend to pay tribute to a girl killed by an IRA bomb.

Danielle Carter, 15, was killed in an explosion at the Baltic Exchange in London on April 10, 1992.

Ten years on, family and friends remembered Danielle by holding an eight-team skate hockey tournament at the Terry Marsh Centre in Crest Avenue, Pitsea.

Her brother Nicky, 24, said his sister would have been proud to see so many people enjoying themselves for a good cause.
