Helpers in south Essex can now find out more about voluntary work in their community by logging on to the world wide web.
Basildon, Billericay and Wickford Council for Voluntary Service has just launched its new website boasting a directory of more than 250 local organisations geared to helping people.
The site has been up and running for two months, but already more than 600 internet surfers have logged on to find out about how they can get involved in the community.
A spokesman for the council said: "The site and directory have been designed for use by local organisations and policy workers."
