Police were today hunting a man who exposed himself to a young woman in Westcliff while committing a lewd act upon himself.
The incident took place in Hildaville Drive at 11.50pm on Wednesday.
A spokesman for Southend police said: "The man followed the victim along an alleyway that links Westminster Drive with Hildaville Drive.
"Once they were in Hildaville Drive, the man continued to follow her along an alleyway that links Hildaville Drive with Fleetwood Avenue.
"As they were in that alleyway, the victim turned around to see the man was committing a lewd act upon himself."
The man was white, of medium build and aged between 18 and 25 years old. He had short hair and wore a cream bomber jacket and a grey woolly hat.
