The charitable arm of Cleanaway in Pitsea is getting a new trust secretary with experience in both community and environmental work.
Cleanaway's Environmental Trust is funded directly through the company and through contributions from the landfill tax.
The trust secretary is responsible for allocating more than £12million to groups and projects in Basildon and Havering.
Former Tory MP for Hornchurch Robin Squire will oversee the work from the beginning of April when secretary Eric Dear retires.
His previous roles include National Lottery commissioner and board member for homeless charity Shelter.
