A taste of France and Rome has been sweeping over pupils at a Wickford school.
Youngsters at Castledon special school in Bromfords Drive have been learning all about French history and customs and everything Roman.
They marked the end of their project by creating a French cafe, complete with croissants, and putting on a Roman banquet at which they wore togas.
During the week pupils also visited Duxford air museum in Cambridgeshire to see the Normandy Experience exhibition and to see the supersonic airliner Concorde.
A school spokeswoman said: "They have really enjoyed themselves. It has been an exciting time for everyone."
