Plans for a controversial safety crossing have changed.
The new proposal is to relocate the zebra crossing in Clacton Road, St Osyth, opposite the village hall.
Residents condemned the original scheme, which was just 50 metres further along the road.
But now villagers have reached a compromise after a meeting with members of St Osyth Parish Council.
Michael Talbot, the chairman of the council, said: "The meeting with members of the public was successful. An alternative site has been suggested."
