Enfield failed to follow up last week's win over Braintree with a second successive win against Essex opposition, instead going down 2-0 at home to Billericay.
Enfield's two-pronged strikeforce of George Georgiou and George Gregoriou looked the biggest threat throughout, though were well marshalled by a stern home defence and the acrobatics of Jerome John in the visitors' goal.
Billericay came out and seemed more capable in the second period, and from John's huge goal-kick, Chris Moore eventually got the break to steer the visitors into the lead amidst a panicked home defence.
Gregoriou went close to levelling on 65 minutes before Moore made the points safe ten minutes from time. Joe Baker's corner again fell the way of the lively midfielder, and once again his shot was too good for Michael Carlli. Billericay hold 8th spot.
