A refugee from the conflict in Afghanistan is settling into a temporary home in Colchester.
Tiger, the dog, was adopted by soldiers from Colchester's 216 Signal Squadron when they were in the Afghan capital Kabul as part of the International Security Assistance Force.
The dog had been flown to the UK with returning troops on Thursday and is staying at the Par Air kennels in Warren Lane, Stanway, until a suitable home is found for him.
Mike Parish who runs the kennels said: "He's got a lovely disposition. He's had a few visitors from the Army who have said how much he's grown since they saw him two weeks ago."
Tiger will stay at the kennels during his six months quarantine, which will cost about £1,100.
