The children, accompanied by their fluffy toys, took part in fundraising activities at the Vange Primary School and Nursery.
A total of 62 dogs were handed out to youngsters at the school in London Road. A ten-lap circuit was completed by older children, while the smaller ones walked around the edge of the playground.
The fundraisers pulled in a total of £1,000 for St Luke's Hospice in Basildon.
