Needy young people from Basildon today visited the BBC's London studios to meet top chat show host Robert Kilroy-Silk.
The host was presenting certificates to the teenagers, who were also being given the chance to appear in tomorrow's edition of Kilroy, on BBC1 at 9am.
Some of the 12 under-privileged young people, all over 16, were living on the streets just months ago or were excluded from school.
They have been taking part in Basildon Council's Ambition project, which aims to help disaffected and disadvantaged youngsters who have fallen out of the social system.
