Survivor star Lee Capon has quit his sales job after the programme gave him a "wake-up call" to seek more excitement in his life.

Lee, 25, of Silverdale, Thundersley, was forced out after bungling a challenge in the TV show, losing his chance to claim £1m.

Lee was chosen from 7,500 hopefuls who applied to join the show, which is set on a tropical island populated with crocodiles and set in shark-infested waters.

The ITV1 show is being watched by millions and Lee said today it gave him "the opportunity of a lifetime".

He said: "It was just such an amazing experience. You are put on this island and given lots of challenges and you also get to experience the TV side of things."

Lee said the best bit about the show was the challenges. He said he got on well with tribe mates Sarah, Bridget and Jonny, but described Little John as "a bit shifty" and blasted Susannah as "a snob".

He was booted off the island on Wednesday and since returning home he said his life has changed dramatically.

He has quit his job as an account manager for Volvo and is now looking for something more exciting.
