A play area in Colchester's biggest housing estate is to be shut down because of nuisance behaviour and vandalism.
Inappropriate behaviour around the play area in Arnold Drive, Greenstead, has been causing disruption for people living in the area and Britten Close in particular.
The play area's owners, Colne Housing Association, carried out talks with residents and most of them wanted the play area closed.
The move has also been supported by the area's ward councillors.
Mark Powell Davies, chief executive at Colne Housing, said: "We've consulted on it and the majority of people would like to see it closed. It is a common problem you get around play areas."
