Two of Wakering's lesser-known lights rose to glory last night to carry the village side into the group final of the East Anglian Cup.
Paul Sammons and Dan Ringer headed home brilliant vital goals, both from right-wing crosses supplied by Gary Ewers, after 56 and 89 minutes respectively to see their side to victory at Harwich.
Martin Calver had given the host outfit a 23rd minute lead, but Wakering eventually won through to earn the right to visit Harwich's Jewson Eastern Counties League rivals Felixstowe in their bid for further progress.
