Waterstone's book store in High Street, Southend, welcomed Maisey Mouse who amazed children and parents alike with her antics.
The international book day, now in its fifth year, aims to encourage young and old to read - be it blockbuster novels, gardening factfiles or pop-up books for toddlers."
