Bogus callers have been targeting victims in Southend once more under the pretence of being electricity maintenance men.
One of the conmen was caught out when a man in his fifties found a stranger in the hallway of an institution for ex-army personnel in Lloyd Wise Close at 1.15pm on Thursday.The burglar was forced to leave empty-handed.
A bogus caller struck at a flat in West Road, Shoebury at 1.40pm on Thursday and took £100.
An attempted burglary also took place in warden controlled flats in Riviera Drive on Thursday.
