A former bank in Southchurch is set for a new lease of life as a traditional pub, thanks to a leading entrepreneur.
The Estuary Pub Company, fronted by Paul Barthaud, is hoping to convert the old Barclays Bank in Southchurch Road into a traditional-style pub and restaurant.
The group, which also runs Bellinis in London Road, Leigh, the Hamlet Court, in Hamlet Court Road, Westcliff, is convinced there is still room for more bars in the town.
It follows hot on the heels of the company's new pub Mariner's Court which opens in Leigh Broadway, close to the Grand pub, on April 10.
The licence has already been granted and the company hopes planning permission will be granted to bring the building to life again, in doing so creating up to 30 jobs.
If given the green light, the company hopes to open the pub doors in July.
