A new initative to help small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) take advantage of eCommerce opportunities is to be launched in the county.
The Essex eBusiness club is one of 16 being launched nationally and aims to strengthen public confidence in online trading and remove technological barriers.
Developed with Essex Chambers of Commerce, UK Online for business and Business Link for Essex, the Essex eBusiness Club also includes a number of national companies such as BT, Cisco Systems and Intel.
Those business joining the club will receive information, guidance and impartial advice to introduce eCommerce solutions into everyday business.
David Crozier, Chief Executive of the Essex Chambers of Commerce said: "Small firms in Essex are currently holding back when it comes to doing business online.
"The public and private sector partners supporting the eBusiness Club will pool resources to help businesses in Essex overcome the problems they face when adopting internet technologies."
