Basildon detectives are appealing for witnesses after two teenage boys were threatened with a weapon and robbed.
Det Con Scott Fleming of Basildon CID said two boys, aged 14 and 15, got off of a train at Pitsea railway station on Saturday night at 11.10pm.
They were aware that three other older boys also got off the train.
The two boys then walked along Hazelmere towards Tesco superstore, but were stopped by the three older boys who had got ahead of them.
Det Con Fleming said: "One of the three put a hard object up to the neck of one of the boys and demanded money. The victims were robbed of £27 in total before the three youths ran off."
Police are keen for any witnesses or people who were in the area at the time to contact Det Con Fleming on 01268 532212 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
