Repair work on Harwich's promenade and seawall is due to start next month.
Tendring Council, which looks after the seawall, has contracted workers to start coastal protection work between Wellington Road and Harbour Crescent.
The scheme will mainly be concrete repair works to the seawall and the construction of a promenade.
Shairwood Contracts will carry out the work, starting on April 8. It is expected to take 12 weeks to complete. Other coastal protection work on an embankment in Dovercourt is due to finish soon.
