Australian international Con Blatsis has signed for Colchester United.
The 24-year-old Melbourne born central defender today signed for the U's on a non-contract basis until the end of the season and goes straight into the squad for tomorrow's vital home game against Queens Park Rangers.
Originally signed by the Rams for £150,000 in a three-year deal from South Melbourne two years ago, Blatsis joins the U's as a free agent having been released by Derby recently.
He also enjoyed a short loan spell with First Division Sheffield Wednesday.
Blatsis made his full international debut as a substitute against South Korea 17 months ago and gained his only other cap in the Aussies starting line-up for the trip to Columbia.
