Rochford District Council is expecting news soon of what Essex County Council is proposing to do to try to solve the crisis over civic amenity sites.

There has been an ongoing row between the Rochford and Castle Point areas and Southend after the unitary authority imposed a charge for non-residents using the civic amenity sites at Stock Road, Southend, and Leigh Marshes.

However, Southend residents can use the sites in Castle Road, Rayleigh and on Canvey free.
