An international foodstore chain has said it will not give up its fight to build on Clacton's largest market.
German-based giant Aldi wants to build the supermarket on the Warwick Castle car park in Pier Avenue. But twice plans have been thrown out.
The land, which is currently home to the market and car boot sales, is earmarked for offices in Tendring Council's development local plan.
The company came back with a proposal which scrapped a second unit and included office space. But this, too, was rejected. Now Aldi has submitted an appeal against the decision.
The public inquiry is on June 25.
