Pupils of Grays' Celebration Theatre and Performing Arts School recorded a 100 per cent pass rate in their latest round of exams.
But the performance of two pupils shone out above the rest. Ross Honeywill and Sam Meleady, both aged 12, were nominated by their examiner to compete in the International Theatre Awards which took place in Manchester last weekend.
Rachel Sutton, head of the dance school based in Grays, said: "They had to take part in a tap dance class conducted by Patricia Lupino Thompson, and then perform a short solo for a panel of adjudicators which included three celebrity judges from the dancing world."
Both boys were awarded certificates for nominations for higher grades of tap and for the Ken Dodd Performance Award.
