Tilbury put a dent in Great Wakering's Ryman Division Two title ambitions on Saturday, holding Rovers to a 1-1 draw in the all-Essex derby.
It was a worthy point for mid-table Tilbury, who went close early on through Steve Jones. Gary Ewers then threatened to break the deadlock with a rising shot, before the deadlock was broken on 7 minutes as Paul Flack ghosted in to nod home Andy Jones' cross.
Tilbury continued to press as the second period began, with Kevin Stubbs' curling shot hitting the upright. The equaliser did eventually arrive on the hour though, as uncertain defending presented Tilbury skipper Craig Dennis with the chance, and he volleyed home first time.
A point proved to be a fair result as Wakering slip to seven points off Horsham in top spot, who won convincingly - 4-0 at bottom club Romford.
East Thurrock United have slipped away from the title chase lately, and more points were dropped on Saturday as Purfleet stole a draw at Thurrock Stadium in a 1-1 draw. Elsewhere, Wivenhoe fell to their 20th league defeat of the campaign - 3-2 at home to Met Police.
The visitors went ahead through Richard Shultz strike, and doubled that advantage before half-time with Jason Prins pile-driver.
Into the second half, and Prins struck again to make it 3-0, before a spirited late fightback made the Officers of the Law sweat in the closing stages. Andy Partner pulled one back, before top scorer Matt Carmichael reduced the deficit to a solitary goal from a scrambled corner.
