Westcliff building sub-contractor Wilson James has been shortlisted as a finalist for a prestigious construction industry award.
The London Road company, which employs more than 1,100 people and has a turnover in excess of £35million, has won through to the final of the specialist sub-contractor category of the 2002 Building Awards, with its outstanding performance over the past year securing its place.
The awards, organised by industry magazine Building, are due to be announced at a glittering gala dinner hosted by TV impressionist Rory Bremner at the Le Meridien Grosvenor Hotel in London on April 24.
Building magazine editor Adrian Barrick said: "Being voted a finalist in the Building Awards' specialist sub-contractor of the year category by leading industry experts is an excellent achievement.
"It clearly indicates Wilson James's high standards and strong commitment to improving performance over the last 12 months."
Listed among the projects that Wilson James has worked on in recent years are the new Tate Modern gallery, British Airways headquarters at Waterside and the Mid City Plaza office development in the heart of London.
