Eight teachers from Thurrock will travel to North Carolina this weekend to take part in an international study visit supported by the Department for Education and Skills.
The initiative gives 2,600 teacher each year the chance to experience teaching methods used throughout the world.
The group, which will spend ten days in the state, includes three teachers from Gable Hall in Corringham, two from Grays School and two from St Clere's in Stanford-le-Hope.
