Ipswich Town will have to put together a strong sequence of results if they are to retain their Premiership status next season - starting tomorrow at Newcastle.
Wednesday night's 2-1 defeat against fellow strugglers Blackburn Rovers has left George Burley's team sitting one place above the dreaded relegation zone.
Only a superior goal difference over Bolton Wanderers is keeping their heads afloat.
Tomorrow's game with Bobby Robson's high-flying Newcastle United is one that the Blues must look to take something from, although past performances have been less than encouraging.
Ipswich's last league win on Tyneside was a 1-0 victory on February 25, 1978. Since then eight games have been contested in the North-East.
Ipswich have gained three points from those visits, losing on five occasions.
Earlier this season Newcastle took all three points from Portman Road courtesy of Noberto Solano's first-half strike.
Ipswich's game next week is one of only four remaining at home. The visit of Aston Villa is now a must-win for the Suffolk side.
Many supporters will look towards April 6 when the Tractor Boys travel to Lancashire to play Bolton Wanderers in a game that could go a long way to deciding who drops out of the top flight.
