A party is being held in honour of a 35-year-old DJ and businessman who died of cancer.
Phillip Eels, known as Colchester soul DJ Phil Roberts and father to four-year-old Harvey, died in January, after being diagnosed with the disease 11 months before.
More than 200 friends and family turned out for his funeral in his home village of Great Bromley, with a speech about the freemason from 20-year-long friend, Colchester mayor Mike Hogg.
Now fellow DJs want to club together to raise £3,000 for charity Make a Wish, in his honour.
Brother Robert, 38, of Bromley Road, Frating, said it was a perfect example of his younger brother touching people's lives.
Mr Eels was diagnosed with liver cancer after a routine hospital check-up.
