The prospect of a fare from London to Maldon would make any taxi driver's mouth water.
But this summer, more than 100 of the capital's cabbies will be making the trip for free.
Their passengers will be disabled children from across the city, coming to enjoy a day of fun in Promenade Park.
The mentally and physically disabled youngsters will first ride in procession down Maldon High Street, accompanied by parents and carers.
The event on July 10 will be the 50th anniversary of the first day out to Maldon set up by kind-hearted drivers.
