A garden marking the September 11 terrorist outrage in America is to be created on a Colchester estate.
The St John's and High Woods Community Association is inviting design entries for an area five metres square in front of its High Woods Square centre.
Organisers hope that would-be Alan Titchmarshes and Charlie Dimmocks will come forward with bright ideas.
The 50p entry fees will contribute towards the winning design's construction, a plaque and runner-up prizes.
Closing date is Tuesday, April 30, with judging the following week.
Committee member Cyril Coppin said he hoped the official opening on September 11 one year on from the tragedies would be attended by US and British embassy representatives.
He said: "It will be just outside the front door, so people will see it all the time. Hopefully, because it is what it is, it will not get vandalised."
Hundreds of people signed a book of condolence following the attacks, and copies were sent to the two embassies. A letter of thanks is on display in the centre foyer.
Entry forms are available from the association on 01206 853111 or Mr Coppin on 01206 842612.
