Mystery today surrounded High Court action against Billericay-based property company Martin Dawn, a shareholder in Southend United.
London-based architects KSS and South East Essex College were taking the action to claw back alleged unpaid debts.
However, despite the case being listed to be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice, no hearing took place.
Martin Dawn, based in Billericay, teamed up with the college and KSS to spearhead plans for a new town centre campus. However, the deal later collapsed.
KSS architects and the college have brought forward the winding up order and petition for bankruptcy.
Martin Dawn managing director Ron Martin today was unavailable for comment.
