Harwich's Health service was today given a major shot-in-the-arm after its GPs pledged to continue serving the town's hospital.
There were doubts whether some of the GPs would continue to provide the cover at the hospital. There were also calls for a better out-of-hours service for the area.
Following talks, GPs from the Dovercourt Health Centre have assured residents they are committed to providing cover at the hospital.
A new Harwich-based out-of-hours service should begin in May.
