Georgina Wheeler of West Mersea hopes to take just three days to complete the 285 miles to 10 Downing Street.
There, she plans to hand over literature calling for Government legislation to encourage youngsters to keep in touch with their relatives following a family break-up.
Mrs Wheeler, of Uplands Road, said she has taken the matter up with North Essex MP Bernard Jenkin and hopes to see it raised in Parliament.
The trip should be something of a breeze for Mrs Wheeler. Running a cleaning business, she cycles about 1,000 miles a year between Colchester and Mersea.
