A multi-agency initiative has been cracking down on illegally-transported waste in Braintree.
Operation Mainbrace 3 was the third part of a joint initiative between police and Environment Agency officers.
Fifty vehicles were searched in roadside spot checks, aimed at checking on unregistered waste carriers. The operation took place across Braintree district last Thursday.
Of the 50 vehicles stopped, 13 are now required to register as waste-carriers and several waste operators have been warned about keeping poor documentation and insecure waste.
Anyone needing further information or advice on waste-carrying can contact the Environment Agency hotline on 0800 807060
