Forrester Park Golf Club Mens section played a betterball stableford off 3 /4 handicap and with a strong wind across the course struggled for points.
The winners were Chris Morris and Eric Barker with 40 points, just edging out Danny Harrington and Kevin Royan on countback.
Alf Root and Phil Prior were the best of three teams on 39 to take third place on countback.
The Veterans also struggled in the wind as they played their March medal.
Richard Chard took the gold division with net 72 from Terry Pryor and Laurie Fewell who both scored net 75. Three other players also scored net 75, losing on countback.
The silver division went to Derek Hollows with net 71, beating Bob Eary net 72 and Stuart Garratt net 73 into the minor places.
In contrast, the ladies played the seventh round of their 12-hole winter league in calm, warm conditions.
Jean Perrott took the first prize with 25 points and added useful points to her winter league total. Three players tied on 23 points with Gay Mole beating Gill Smith, third, and Angela Roast, fourth, on countback for second place.
Channels Golf Club lady captain, Jenny Wheelhouse, hosted her charity lunch on Thursday at the club following a nine-hole competition played over the Belsteads course.
The winner was Judy Dunbar with a stableford score of 20 points from her 28 handicap. Pam Howard (34 h/c) took second place on countback from Beryl Perry (32 h/c), both ladies scored 19 points.
