Goalless draws featuring Maldon Town are rare events, but Saturday's game at Woodbridge was completely dominated by the weather conditions.
In truth the wind not only dominating the match, it also rendered any hope of passing football near impossible.
Maldon kicked into the wind in the first half and had goalkeeper Dean Mahoney to thank for preventing the home side from taking the lead.
In the eighth minute Miller's cross was met by Curtis whose powerful diving header was saved by Mahoney. Later in the half the Maldon keeper saved low down after seeing the ball late following a Woodbridge free kick.
The wind in fact grew stronger as the game progressed making the second half a complete lottery. Playing with the wind Maldon had the better of the second half, although judging the flight of the ball or weighting passes proved a near impossible task.
Town's best chances came when a shot from Scott Witney was cleared off Woodbridge line by defender Gibert and a Neil Cousins effort that curled agonisingly wide of the post.
As the game went on the scoreline became all the more predictable and no-one could have been surprised when the game ended scoreless.
