Literacy and numeracy classes are being offered to parents to keep them up to date with their children.
Mums and dads in Colchester can take lessons in the national curriculum so they do not fall behind their youngsters. One of the aims of the scheme is to help parents to be more able when helping their children with their homework.
The courses are being offered by Greyfriars Adult Community College, Colchester, and are held in schools across the borough.
