Rollerskating hairdressers fought high winds for over six miles along the seafront for charity.
In two hours, 19 skaters made it from Walton Pier to Clacton Pier to help St Helena Hospice.
Staff of Hair Innovations in Frinton Road, Holland-on-Sea, with their friends and family, raised nearly £700 in sponsorship.
The final figure will be known after a raffle on Saturday.
Organiser Julia Pearce said: "I fell over three times. My hand was still hurting even after I'd had a drink. But nobody gave up. We all made it in the end, even though we were skating into the wind all the way."
