Great Wakering Rovers travel to Sussex tonight aiming to take over at the top of the Ryman League Second Division.

The village side moved into third place on Saturday with a hard-earned 1-0 win at Hungerford and, with leaders Lewes not playing this evening, will move into first place if they can win at a Horsham side immediately above them.

Wakering are battling magnificently against the odds at present. They were without six first team squad men at the weekend and are likely to again be vastly understrength tonight.

New signing Neil Fillery, from Romford, made a bright debut at Hungerford and is likely to get another taste of action tonight.

If Rovers win this evening they will be a point ahead of Lewes at the top, but the Sussex side would have three games in hand.
