Boyci, who competes under the name Tardelli the Wanderer, came first in the graduate dog class for his breed at Crufts.
Owner Mrs Ringe, of Coriolanus Close, Colchester, said: "It's excellent when I bred him I never thought he would get to Crufts.
"We entered quite a few championship shows last year and he kept coming second I'm just so thrilled he won. We had a fantastic day."
Colchester has another canine to be proud of in Oliver, the great dane who won the puppy class for his breed.
Owner Marilyn Winyard said: "I'm not quite sure how I feel - I never thought it would happen to him."
